My name is Jacob McCormick and I’m a Catholic artist from the mountains of North Carolina. My artistic journey started about five years ago when I decided to sculpt a crucifix for my wife. Unbeknownst to me, this crucifix would be the beginning of a bright future as an artist dedicated to bring Christ to others. 

A few years after I initially sculpted that crucifix, I decided it was time to make another one, which then lead to another, and another after that. Before I knew it, I had sculpted almost a dozen crucifixes. I began to develop a special relationship with our Lord and His crucifixion. 

In late November of 2020 my beautiful wife gave birth to our first born, a baby girl! Despite being over joyed and filled with excitement, I came to the realization that my current work situation did not support me with any kind of paid paternity leave. It was at this point that I had to decide whether or not I should pursue Catholic Art as a profession. After much consideration, I created Memento Christi and have worked tirelessly to bring Christ to those around me.
